This year Connecting the Dots 2020 will be an Online conference for those still seeking to make authentic connections, but now we are doing it via 4 separate one hour panels discussion. These panels will have 3 experts in their fields of Small Business Ownership, Leadership, Coaching, Operations, and Strategic Mastery: Lawrence Henderson, Alora Chistiakoff and Paul Tripp. We as a team want to provide what is needed today and tomorrow. These sessions will be jammed packed full of practical, tactical, and actionable takeaways.

This week we skipped the Mystery Box and are joined by an L&D executive, Shana Storey, in NYC to discuss how to deal with the implications of Covid-19 at work.

Working from home can sound like a great option, but for some of us, learning to do it can be a struggle. And in the wake of the 'work from home' mandates thanks to Covid-19, many managers are struggling to suddenly figure out how to manage a team remotely when they've only ever done it in person. This is a potentially huge topic with a sometimes tricky learning curve, but in this video I start with 5 Basic Steps you can take, as a manager, to help your team with this sudden change in your working model.

Now that I've wrapped up my series on the 12 Elements of Employee Engagement, I was looking over my list of notes on other topics I've been putting in a parking lot since before the holidays. Interestingly, they are pretty thematically consistent with a great book I always find super valuable: Executive Presence: The Art of Commanding Respect Like a CEO by Harrison Monarth. I like the term "executive presence" because I think it is well-understood, but sometimes I find it hard to convince people who are not (and don't see themselves as ever being) executives to understand why it still matters to them. So that's where I'll start today, and then work my way through the list over the coming weeks.

There are two sides to self-awareness: how well we understand ourselves, and how accurately we understand how other people see us. Both are hard, both are critical for your professional development, and both are more rare than you might think.

So this is it. Today is the last of the Gallup's 12 Elements of Employee Engagement. In the last year, I have had opportunities to learn and grow.
